Tips for Choosing the Right

Amish Furniture for You

  • Measure Your Space

The first step is determining how much space you have in your area to accommodate the furniture pieces you want.

For dining room furniture, for example, determine whether you want a solid top table that is one size all the time, or whether you'd like a table that can expand with additional leaves for larger gatherings. Decide what size you'd like the table on a daily basis when closed and determine the maximum amount of space allowed for the table (including chair space around it) when fully opened. This will ensure you get the right fit for your space!

  • Determine Your Style & Wood Type

We have various styles from modern dining furniture, Mission dining furniture, Shaker-style dining furniture and more. Decide which style best represents you and compliments the rest of your home! This also includes the type of wood species, such as red oak, quartersawn white oak, brown maple, sap cherry, etc. Some wood grain patterns lend themselves to a more modern or contemporary feel, while others are great for rustic or traditional vibes.

  • Paint Versus Stain Color Options

With a substantial selection of premium wood stain options, you are sure to find the color! Staining hardwood furniture allows you to still enjoy the beautiful, natural woodgrain pattern. Should you choose a paint color for your furniture, brown maple wood will automatically be used, as it has less dominant woodgrain color & pattern than oak, for example. Additional options also include two-tone furniture - either using 2 different stain choices or 1 stain and 1 paint choice.

  • Be Sure with Samples
